Applied Systems team members celebrate Pride at different times based on their location. The US, UK and Canada celebrated Pride in June. We're excited to share the memories we made in June '25 as we represented Pride at Applied at events such as the 54th Annual Chicago Pride Parade, an Unexpected Virtual Tour about Pride history in the US, and our United in Pride virtual party.

Pride is something we celebrate and cherish every month, but let's take a look at some highlights from this month's celebrations.

Representing Applied at the Chicago Pride Parade

On June 29, Pride at Applied Community of Interest leads and volunteers represented Applied at the 54th annual Chicago Pride Parade. Nearly 1 million people came together to celebrate and support the LGBTQIA+ community in Chicagoland.

Applied had 36 volunteers singing, dancing, and handing out fun swag alongside our float. One of our engagement committee volunteers, Stephanie Brignardello, took the time to crochet nearly 300 small hearts to hand out as well.

“It’s hard enough to describe the feeling of being able to be your authentic self in your workplace; but take that to another level and have three of your company’s Chief executives walking with you and supporting you in the Chicago Pride Parade. There’s something about having your DJ play the beat from your float down N Halsted and N Broadway, while you're singing and dancing with nearly 1 million spectators lining the sidewalks. The experience and incredible level of love and support that you feel emanating from the crowd is simply exhilarating.”

Unexpected Virtual Tours

This year, Applied team members had the chance to take an Unexpected Virtual Tour of the historic beginnings of Pride in the US. During the 60-minute tour, participants got a live look from an on-location guide in the Greenwich Village neighborhood where the Stonewall Uprising took place in New York City.

Team Applied virtually visited The Stonewall National Monument and participated in fun trivia games. Participants had the opportunity to reflect on the first gay rights protest march in 1964 and learn where the term gay pride was first coined, which catapulted the movement to have Pride parades around the country.

“I have experienced every installment of Unexpected Virtual Tours here at Applied, and their masterful storytelling beautifully blends history and entertainment. The recent installment on Pride Month was superb, and the most impactful moments for me were the audio archive of LGBTQIA+ rights icons like Martha P. Johnson and Harvey Milk — it made history leap off the pages like never before!”

United in Pride Virtual Party

In addition to participating in the Chicago Pride Parade and taking an Unexpected Virtual Tour, we also hosted a United in Pride Party, open The party included games like bingo, awesome prizes, and an epic scavenger hunt.

“Our virtual celebration, United in Pride, was a beautiful example of connection and inclusivity in action. Colleagues from many different locations came together, bridging distances and fostering bonds with coworkers we don’t often get to interact with. Through engaging games (I especially loved the group whiteboard drawing!), fascinating conversations, and lighthearted fun, we explored common interests and celebrated — all while strengthening our sense of unity as one team. The event was a joyful reminder that pride isn’t just about identity; it’s about finding belonging and building community, no matter where in the world we are.”
